Classification Term
A standard label within a named catalog and scope.
Source table: Classification Term in Core Record Types (schema:DefinedTerm). A term names a category in a Term Set. It is a label, not an organization, unit or permission.
Rules and ownership
Choose the Term Set: Teams, Departments, Entity Type, Industry, Compliance, Identifier Type or Place Kind. Global marks terms every company may reuse; Scope keeps a term for specific companies. Parent Term and Child Terms express a hierarchy. Alternate Name holds a short form such as a legal suffix; Organizations read it as Suffix. The inbound links from organizations, departments, teams and states show usage: change the consuming record’s link when the classification is wrong, and the wording here when the term is wrong.
Lifecycle and checks
The table has no status field or formula check. Scope does not filter pickers or enforce access by itself. The lasting classification of a counterparty is Organizations.Industry.
Source fields
Names, types, options and links are those configured in Core Record Types. The meaning is the first line of each field description in Airtable. Options describe configuration; they do not prove a rule is enforced elsewhere.
