Tool Workspace

One tenant inside a tool, with its own id; payer, controller and legal owner are separate facts.

Reviewed 2026-10-28Markdown

A Tool Workspace is a configured tenant: a Slack workspace, a Cal.com account space, a Google Workspace domain. External Identifier is the id the tool assigns, and automations match on it. Communication reads this table through Tool Workspace (mirror) to link Channels.

Rules and relationships

Link exactly one Tool and, when known, the Company (a Core organization) behind the tenant. The Tool picker accepts several records; nothing rejects a second one. Controller (Person) and Legal Owner (Person) are different facts: day-to-day admin control versus the vendor account holder. Their descriptions mention company-side links that do not exist; only Company is present.

Name is calculated from Company, Tool and External Identifier, so it changes when any of them changes. Workspace URL joins App URL and External Identifier and prints a missing … placeholder when either is blank. Accounts, Resources and Subscriptions are inverse links.

Calculated rules

The expressions below use field names for readability. They label rows; they do not validate them.

Name

CONCATENATE(
  IF({Company},{Company},""),
  IF({Tool}," - "&{Tool},""),
  IF({External Identifier}," - "&{External Identifier},"")
)

Workspace URL

CONCATENATE(
  IF({App URL},{App URL},"missing app url")
  ,"/",
  IF({External Identifier},{External Identifier}," - missing external identifier ")
  )

Example

Company = Example Studio; Tool = Slack; External Identifier = T01ABCD2EFG. Name reads Example Studio - Slack - T01ABCD2EFG. Controller (Person) = Ana Costa; Legal Owner (Person) stays blank because the vendor account is in the company name.
