# Manual results

Record a result outside Slack and review it before marking collection complete.

## Check for an existing response

Search Results - All or CEO - Reported results for the metric, membership and period first. A row added in the intake is new; it does not use the Slack upsert contract. Prefer editing the existing Slack response when it represents the same requested occurrence.

## Identify the measurement

Open Observation → Step 1 - Identify metric and period. Fill Variable Measured*, Observation About (Membership)* and Period*. Link Recurrence Configuration° only when the result belongs to that schedule. Do not invent Submission Key or Slack File IDs.

## Enter value and evidence

In Step 2 - Enter result and evidence, enter Value*, Unit Text* and Observation Date*. Zero is valid. Evidence°, Evidence Files° and Note° are optional in the intake. Airtable numeric fields do not enforce the Slack-only non-negative integer rule; reviewers must check metric semantics.

## Review and record

In Step 3 - Review and record result, clear Intake Check, inspect duplicates and evidence, then set Collection Status* to Recorded. These manual queues only include rows without Submission Key whose status is blank or Processing. Failed Slack submissions belong in recovery, not manual recreation. The intake does not set Recorded for you.
