# Complete the sales cycle

Follow one lead from capture to contact, proposal and outcome.

This guide connects the full path for a seller. You need access to CRM, an active membership in the selling company and an available offer before proposing. The example is fictitious: Alex at Example Services asks about a monthly service. The screens show the current system; this guide is not a newly executed sales transaction.

## Flow

The path of one lead from the first search to the outcome; each box is a Data view you work in, dashed boxes are done for you by Cal.com, and the pills are where the cycle ends.

## Capture the lead

In Data, search People → Directory by email and Companies → Directory by website. Reuse shared identities. A lead is a Deal at Deal Stage* = Lead: open Deal → Step 1 - Say who the client is, add the row and link the person in People°, the company in Company°, or both. Set Source° and the accountable pair, and add the known context in Notes°. A Cal.com booking creates the Deal for you at Meeting Scheduled. [Manage deals](/systems/crm/manage-deals) shows the intake steps.

## Contact and schedule

Log an Interaction with People°, Company° or Deal°, Date*, Title*, Type, Result and accountable pair. Record evidence when relevant. Set the next agreed date/action on the contact, then add the next action as a task in [Tasks](/systems/crm/entity-task). Nothing copies it there for you. [Log contact](/systems/crm/log-contact) explains the checks.

## Propose and decide

Advance the same Deal as facts change: Contacted, Meeting Scheduled, Pitched, then Proposal Sent. From Proposal Sent on, Product* selects the Offer and Value* and Expected Close Date* are required. If the lead came from a campaign, link it in Campaign°; the Deal's Interactions show it through their Campaign lookup. Resolve Deal Check before closing.

## Close the loop

On a win, set the Deal to Won; nothing else has to be converted. Confirm existing Core links rather than creating identities again. A disqualified lead is Lost, with the reason in Notes°. On a loss, another Deal for the same client can still be open. Review the pipeline under the intended company and owner filters. A saved deal is not a signed agreement, payment or KPI reading.

## Recognize success

The Deal has the correct client and accountable pair, its next action is an intentional task, each contact is linked, and each proposal has a clear outcome. When the lead came from a campaign, Campaign° on the Deal holds it. Follow [troubleshooting](/systems/crm/troubleshooting) if a record disappears from an intake or an automated booking is incomplete.
